Obituary for Richard Hogan

Richard Hogan
On October 11, 2018 Richard Hogan, 57, was called to the heavens where he will rest for eternity. Amongst the brilliant stars, where he shall forever feel the warmth of the sun, see the magnificence of the ocean and, hear the sounds of the waves.

Richard spent the last 36 years working in the finance industry and held a bachelor’s degree in banking. Richard’s happy place was his home watching the Mets, Penn State and Notre Dame football games. He enjoyed chocolate cake, rock and roll, hiking, the beach and taking adventures with his daughters.

Richard’s legacy continues through his loving wife of 32 years, Carol Hogan, his daughters Catherine Hogan Buseck and Sara Hogan, and his loving son-in-law Nicholas. He is also survived by his brother Michael Hogan, William Hogan, Matthew Hogan and his sisters in law Sharon Hogan and Carol Hogan. He is predeceased by his brother James Hogan Jr., father James Hogan and mother Catherine Hogan. Richard also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday 10am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s Church in Parlin. A private cremation will follow.

Calling hours will be Sunday 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research. Letters of condolence, directions and completed arrangements can be found at www.spezzifuneralhome.com
