Obituary for Richard Balazs

Richard  Balazs
Richard Balazs, age 65, of South River, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, with his loving and devoted family at his side. Born in New Brunswick he has resided in South River all of his life.

Richard proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army, was a member of South River VFW Post 1451 and South River American Legion Post 214. He was employed for the past two years as a sales associate in the garden department of Home Depot in Milltown and prior to that as a Laboratory Supervisor for Betham Corp in Middlesex.

He is predeceased by his parents Geza and Mary Balazs and his brother Louis Balazs, his father-in-law William Coyle. Surviving are his wife of 35 years Donna Coyle Balazs his son Stephen Balazs and his wife Heather of Laurence Harbor, his grandson William Balazs, his brother Robert Balazs and his wife Lucille of South River, his sister Lynn Hawke and her husband Jack Osterhold of Miami, FL, his sister in law Lucille Balazs of Miami, Fl, his mother-in-law Janice Coyle, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Bill & Sue, Maureen & Frank, Cathy, Sharon & Blake and Debbie & Joe. Many nieces, nephews and his devoted dog May.

A memorial service will be held Sunday January 15, 2017 at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River from 2pm to 5pm. Letters of condolence to the family, completed arrangements and directions may be found at www.maliszewskifuneralhome.com
