Obituary for Joan C Kemble (Habert)

Parlin
Joan C. Habert Kemble, age 87 of Parlin, passed away peacefully November 15, 2015 at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Parlin for the past 62 years. Joan was a communicant of St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy. Before her retirement, Joan worked 29 years as the secretary to the Chief of Police in Sayreville. She served 5 chiefs in her time with the borough. Joan was an exceptional woman, and was always volunteering her time with others. She was a member of the Elks Lodge 2030 in Keyport, Ancient Order of Hibernians in South Amboy, the Red Hat Society, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Milltown, and the Knights of Columbus #3402 in Keyport.
She is predeceased by her loving husband James in 1976, and her sister Ellen McKiernan.
Surviving are her children and their spouses James & Maureen, Joan Marie Kemble, Thomas & Joan, Susan & Gerard Pizzillo, Richard & Rosie, her grandchildren Meghan, Laura, Daniel, Shannon, Thomas Jr., Anna, Gerard, James, Thomas, Joseph, Richard, Douglas, her great grandchildren Nevan, Emma, Gwen, Kaelyn, Paige, Sophie and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her.
Funeral services will be Saturday 9:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with a 10:30am funeral mass at St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Sayreville Brain Injured Children 271 Jernee Mill Road Sayreville, NJ 08872
