Obituary for Martin Dux
South River
Martin J. Dux, age 98 of South River, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Germany, Marty arrived in the US in April of 1926 with his parents and his brother Carl. He grew up in Sayreville and South River and graduated high school in 1937. During WWII, Marty served 3 ½ years with the US Coast Guard. In his early years, Marty worked as a baker in Philly and South Jersey. Subsequently, he worked for DuPont Film Plant for 30 years and retired in 1983
Having been blessed with good health all those years, Marty enjoyed life with family and friends and loved to travel.
He is predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Joseph Dux, his wife Rose, his brother Carl and her sister in law Vivian.
Surviving are his daughter Judy Dux, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday 11:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville, with a 12 noon mass to follow at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Trenton.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday morning from 10am to 11:30am
