Frank E. Olszewski Jr., age 65 of South Amboy passed away Saturday November 5, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy he had resided in Sayreville before moving to South Amboy in 1978. Before his retirement 17 years ago he was employed as a material handler for Delco Remy in New Brunswick where he worked for 30 years. Frank proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He was a member, Past Commander and Honor Guard member of Sayreville VFW post 4699, a member of South River American Legion Post 214 and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Parlin. Frank enjoyed just hopping in the car with his wife taking a road trip.

He is predeceased by his parents Frank & Laverne Olszewski and his sisters Christine Olszewski and Karen Doosey. Surviving are his wife of 43 years Valentina Chikildin Olszewski, his daughter and their spouses Danielle & Philip Metz and JoLynn Ellis & Jason Williams all of South Amboy, his grandson and sunshine of his life Logan David Metz, his siblings and their spouses Linda & Mike Parfianowicz of South Amboy and George & Gail Olszewski of South River, his brother in law Frank Doosey of Sayreville, his devoted companion and pet dog Pandora and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 10am service at Messiah Lutheran Church in Parlin with private cremation to follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Monday from 4pm to 8pm. Members of Sayreville VFW will stand honor guard and hold military services on Monday 7pm at the funeral home. As per Franks request please no flowers. Donations can be made to Logan David Metz College Fund care of the family.
