Obituary for Paul Lebeda

Paul  Lebeda
Paul Lebeda, age 86, of the Melrose section of Sayreville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Brandywine Living at Governor’s Crossing, Englishtown, NJ. Born in Taylor, PA, he resided in Sayreville for 58 years. Paul retired from Hercules, Inc., Parlin, NJ where he was a member of the 25 year service club. Mr. Lebeda was a proud veteran serving in both the Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Perth Amboy.
Paul enjoyed working on and restoring cars, listening to country music, and attending family events. He took great pleasure in providing for his family and with his brothers built the home he, his wife and family would reside in for nearly six decades.
Paul was predeceased by his parents John & Mary (Fetch) Lebeda, brothers George, John and Michael Lebeda, sister Helen Podolak, and his beloved wife of 61 years Marie Sara (Barbieri).
He is survived by his children and their spouses Marisa and Gary Szamreta of Parlin, Gerard Lebeda and Ramon Robles of Bound Brook and Maryellen and Charles Tuttle of Albuquerque, NM. Paul is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Elizabeth Szamreta of Metuchen, Nicholas Szamreta of Parlin, Shade and Dagan of Albuquerque, NM and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 15th from 4pm to 8pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a Panachida prayer service to be held at 7:15pm. A private cremation has taken place and burial will follow at a later date in the family cemetery in Old Forge, PA.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at both Governor’s Crossing and Compassionate Care Hospice, your dedication and compassion will be remembered always.
