Reginald “Reggie” Butler age 75 of Old Bridge passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Great Neck, Long Island he has resided in Old Bridge for over 40 years. Before his retirement 8 years ago he was employed as campaign director for United Way of Monmouth County where he worked for over 30 years. Reggie proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. Reginald served as Councilman for Old Bridge from 1989 till present, was a member of the 3rd Ward Democratic Club, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and the NAACP.

He is predeceased by his wife Donna Sullivan Butler in 2010, his parents George & Louise Butler Jr., and his siblings Louise Patrick, George Butler III, Joseph Butler, Christine Butler and Ronald Butler.

Surviving is his son Reginald Butler II, his siblings Harold Butler, Beverly Butler, Carol Hirsch, Mamie Lind Butler and Bruce Butler.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 6pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with Private Burial to follow on Monday at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Reggie's name be made to the United Way of Monmouth County.
