John “Jack” Floersch age 82 of Sayreville passed away suddenly on Thursday February 5, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Woodbridge he has resided in Sayreville since 1961. Before his retirement in 1996 he was employed for 41 years at Witco Chemical in Perth Amboy as a fork lift operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Jack was very active in the community and was a member of the Saint Stanislaus Kostka Holy Name Society, Sayreville Knights of Columbus Council 2061 and their 4th Degree Assembly, Our Lady of Victories Seniors, Sayreville St Stan’s Seniors and Sayreville Senior Citizens Thursday Club. He was an avid New York Ranger & Giants fan, ran numerous senior bus trips, especially his favorite Atlantic City. Jack was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville where he served as a former usher. He was a good and holy man who loved his family with all his heart.

He is predeceased by his parents Peter & Marguerite Floersch, and his siblings Peter, Francis, Thomas, and Patricia Floersch and Kathleen Seaman. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years Ann DeFederico Floersch, his children and their spouses Teri & George Gibson and Thomas & Kristine Floersch all of Sayreville, his adored grandsons Tim Gibson and Thomas Floersch, and his siblings Robert Floersch of Avenel, Jim Floersch and Maureen Floersch both of Woodbridge and Mary Jane Maciborski.

Funeral services will be held Monday 9am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville with burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. The following groups will hold services Sunday at the funeral home: St Stanislaus Holy Name Society, OLV Seniors, Sayreville St Stan’s Seniors, Sayreville Thursday Club, K of C Council 2061 and their 4th Degree Assembly. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Jack’s name be made to N.J.S.P.C.A.org.
