Little Egg Harbor
Helen M. Bodak, age 92, formerly of Sayreville & South River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Seacrest Village in Little Egg Harbor. Born and raised in Sayreville, she also lived in South River for many years before returning to Sayreville, and then moving to Little Egg Harbor 6 years ago. Before her retirement in 1990, Mrs. Bodak proudly worked as a little old cookie maker for Sunshine Biscuit in Sayreville for over 25 years where she was a member of the Bakers Union. Helen was a devout Catholic who loved animals, especially all of her grand-dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, Walter & Mary Drozd, and her siblings Josephine Drozd, John Drozd, Ann Rawdonowicz, Stell Mozdzen, Edward Drozd, and Frances Drozd. She is survived by her beloved daughter and her husband Sharon & John Sherwood of Little Egg Harbor and her granddaughter Kimberly Sherwood of Sayreville.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday from 11am to 2pm at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St, Sayreville with religious services at 2pm also at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen’s honor to Sammy’s Hope Animal Shelter in Sayreville, 1400 Main St, Sayreville, NJ 08872. Letters of condolence to the family, completed arrangements and directions may be found by visiting www.maliszewskimemorialhome.com.
