Obituary for Frank "Chippy" Czapkowski

South River
Frank “Chippy” Czapkowski age 76 of South River passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Roosevelt Care Center in Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick he had lived in East Brunswick for 10 years and has resided in South River for most of his life. Before his retirement in 2001 he was employed by DuPont in Parlin as a Research Assistant for 39 years. Frank was a communicant of St Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River where he also was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was an usher and adult altar server. He was a member of the Bill Denny Chapter National Football Foundation Hall of Fame, the Outback Hunting Club, the American Legion Post 214, South River Seniors, South River Lions Club 16-D, DuPont 25 Year Club and the South River Knights of Columbus Council #3001. He belonged to the NJ Federation of Sportsmen’s Club, he was a trustee at Washington Monumental Cemetery, a member of the South River Historical Society and he dressed up as Santa Claus for the American Legion and St Mary’s Church for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing baseball.
He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Helen, his wife JoAnn and his brother Richard. Surviving are his sons and their spouses Frank and Jeanne of Jackson and Joseph and Patti of East Brunswick, his granddaughters Kristyn Wagner and Robyn Czapkowski, his sisters Marie Sutter of South Amboy, Helen Cseh of Sayreville and Elaine Chamberlain and her husband Robert of South River, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River with a 9am Mass at St Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
