Ann Marie Puchala, age 70, of Old Bridge passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Monday, November 20, 2017 at her home with her loving husband at her side. Born in New Brunswick, Ann Marie lived in South River before moving to Old Bridge over 46 years ago. She was a graduate of South River High School, was an executive secretary with both Johnson & Johnson and Sunshine Biscuit and later worked as an Office Manager with her husband Ted’s business, Frank’s Service Station in Sayreville. Mrs. Puchala was a devout Catholic, having been a Communicant of both St. Thomas and St. Mary of Ostrabrama. Ann Marie organized and ran karaoke at the Sayreville VFW and had a beautiful singing voice. For the past 15 years she was the loving caregiver of her parents. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ann Marie is predeceased by her parents Alex & Mary Olender. Surviving are her beloved husband of 50 years, Ted Puchala of Old Bridge; her brother Ronald Olender and his wife Constance of Howell Township, and sister Claire Olender of South River; nephews Ronald A. & Cathy Olender of Manahawkin, niece Amy Lynn & Michael Jarmusik of Howell Township, and nephew Michael Olender of Howell Township; her great niece & nephew Chelsea & Curtis Olender of Manahawkin; her brother-in-law Fred Puchala of Sayreville and sister-in-law Mary Lou Puchala of FL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:30am from the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River with a 9am Mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, E. Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Friday from 4pm to 8pm.
