Obituary for Theresa Chorpita (Riepl)

Theresa Chorpita passed away Friday September 15, 2017 in Plainsboro, NJ.
Theresa was born in South River on May 7, 1916 to Joseph and Mary Riepl, both German immigrants. Theresa had three brothers, Frank, Joseph Jr. and Edward, and five sisters, Mary, Rose, Matilda, Alice and Katherine. Her father was a seaman. The family lived on Holmes Avenue in the downtown area.

She married Fred Chorpita in 1936. The couple had two children, Frederick Jr. and Lois. There are five grandchildren, Douglas Chorpita, Stacie (Blaszka) Kucker, Bruce Chorpita, Vanessa (Blaszka) Spino, and Darren Blaszka and seven great-grandchildren, Erika Spino, Allison Spino, Marie Chorpita, Christopher Kucker, Nicholas Chorpita, Kristina Kucker, and Otto Blaszka.

Theresa worked as a packer for Johnson & Johnson Corporation in their Personal Products division in Miltown, NJ for many years.

She is predeceased by her daughter Lois, her husband, Fred. Sr., and all of her and her husband’s siblings. She is survived by her beloved son, Fred Jr., her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and so much more. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Viewing hours at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville are Wednesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30am at the Maliszewski Memorial Home with a 11:30am funeral mass at Corpus Christi Church, 100 James St., South River, NJ.
