Old Bridge
Jean Marie Neira, age 88 of the Parlin section of Old Bridge passed away at her home on Thursday, November 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Greenwich Village, NY she had lived in Old Bridge for the past 60 years. Jean graduated from Strober Miller Textile High School in Manhattan and shortly after married her husband, John. Mrs. Neira was also a communicant of St. Bernadette’s RC Church.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband John Neira, Sr., and her parents John & Rose (Petillo) Varucci. Jean Marie is survived by her children and their spouses John & Helen of Chatham, Robert & Tina of Toms River, Lynn & Paul Arzig of Old Bridge, and her loving son and caretaker Ron Neira of Old Bridge; her sister Florence & John Scarinci of Long Island; her 7 grandchildren Jenna & her husband Kevin Pierce, Robert, Jr. & his wife Alicia, Lauren, John, Katherine, Michael & Madison; and her adoring great-grandchildren Kevin, Robert III, Emily & Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with an 11:30am funeral mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. Letters of condolence, completed arrangements and directions can be found at www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
